Mike Siddell @ Kings Place
Since the folk revival of the 1960s, bands have employed lush string arrangements to lift their music beyond the conventional. Arctic Circle have commissioned The Miserable Rich's violinist Mike Siddell to work with guest singers on new arrangements of their songs to be performed in the wonderful concert hall at Kings Place as part of their Folk Union series.
Mike started out with post-rock icons Hope Of The States; since their split four years ago, Mike has influenced much of the output of Brighton's Wilkommen Collective, including The Leisure Society, Sons Of Noel and Adrian, and of course The Miserable Rich, whose baroque indie sound is driven by the strings.

Wishing everyone a happy and successful 2011...
We're starting out with a new website - at last! Ok, there's not much in the way of content at the moment, but we'll be adding to it as we head further into the year... There's plenty to look forward to in 2011, with new albums from Liz Green and Aidan Smith, plus plans brewing for The Miserable Rich and Denis Jones to each be recording their third albums.
